January 2013 Reads

Read 32 books this month, right about where I thought I’d be, since I’ve spent more time working on learning languages than on reading so far this year.  Many of the goals I outlined in my “resolutions” are roughly on par as well.  12/32, or 37.5% of the books read were written, co-written, edited, or co-edited by women (and 14/32, if I count stories in two other anthologies that were edited by men).  13/32 books were read in a language other than English (5 Spanish, 3 Portuguese, 2 Serbian, 1 Latin, 1 Italian, 1 French).  7/32 more were translated into English (2 Serbian, 2 Japanese, 1 Turkish, 1 French, 1 Portuguese).  11/32 have a 2013 copyright date.  3/32 were re-reads.  11/32 were single-author collections and 5/32 were anthologies. Only 1/32 were poetry collections; same number for graphic novels.  And now for the titles themselves:
